The massive marble 5 sided monument and statue of Jose Marti is located in the big Plaza de la Revolution. Take the lift to the very top of the 109m tower to the highest point in Havana for excellent 360 views of Havana city.
How to Get There
We walked from Colon Cemetery to Revolution plaza, it only took about 10mins, not far really. This is Havanas biggest plaza and where major ceremonies like May Day are held. The square is surrounded by government buildings including the National Library along with the massive Jose Marti Monument and Museum.
We didnt realise the first time we visited that you could take a lift to the very top of the 109m marble tower, so we made sure we went up the next time.
Its $1 CUC to enter and take photos from outside, then another $3 CUC to go inside the momument and take the lift to the top. Gosh the views Havana city are stunning from way up there, well worth paying to go see.
Open daily from 9am to 4.30pm. The hop on hop off Habana Bus tour stops here if which is very handy on this tour. The best price we could get with the coco taxi back to Parque Central was $7 CUC, still a great ride.
