Königsallee Market

Start at the Kö-Galerie entrance and walk along the Königsallee’s exclusive shops. Get familiar with this area while you get captivated by boulevard’s atmosphere.

The west side of this Christmas market is well-developed and has luxurious hotels, i.e., the Steigenberger Parkhotel, the InterContinental and traditional Breidenbacher Hof. All of which are of superior 5-star quality.

Market Theme

If you can imagine merging nostalgia, romance, and shopping bustle into a unique atmosphere, that is what you’ll find at the Kö. The noble Düsseldorf address provides the background, while beautifully lit chestnut trees provide the romance, and every direction you look, there’s somewhere you want to shop.

What’s Inside

Fashion competition is always evident in this market, from luxurious jewelers, many flagship-stores, impressive shopping malls to small boutiques. At the end of the market, you’ll see the Triton foundation — Kö’s landmark. From here you can get a good view of the moat and the Kaufhof building, one of Germany’s first departmental stores.

Market Stalls

You can take a break and enjoy roasted chestnuts, Bratwurst, Christmas cookies and mulled wine at this place. Moreover, you’ll find a wide variety of gifts made of wood, metal, wool, silk, and ceramic. The Christmas market takes place from Monday to Saturday.

Visitor Info

The current Königsallee was once known as Kastanienallee” (Chestnut Boulevard), Neue Allee (New Boulevard) and Mittelallee (Middle Boulevard). Although its trees and other attractions remain the same, the modern name “Kö,” the short form of Königsallee (King’s Boulevard), has become a familiar name among wealthy shopping tourists.
