Weve tried several times to eat at Los Nardos restaurant but its been full with a line waiting. So 5.30pm early dinner, still had to wait. So cheap and very good. No wonder Los Nardos Restaurant is so busy.
Wow this place is so busy, weve tried several times to get in but its been packed with a long queue out front. This time we walked past at 5pm and asked if we could book – no, was the reply, first in first served. We wandered off for another 30mins and came back. We were asked which restaurant wed like to dine at, as there are three.
The ground floor is the Cuban restaurant, next floor is Italian and top floor Italian and international.
We went for the top floor, dont know why. Its only a couple of flights of steps, we were expecting at this time of day to be seated straight away, not so. We were the 5th couple waiting. Didnt take too long, about 15mins and we were seated.
First impressions of Los Nardos were – this place is going to be expensive. Impressively dressed waiters, great furniture, low lighting it looked really upmarket. We were so surprised to see the average meal was only around $6 CUC.
The menu at Los Nardos is quite big, it took us awhile to figure out what we should order. The waiter took our drinks order, one Mojito ($2.95) and one Pina Colada ($2.95), the Mojito was ok, the other cocktail was better.
I ordered the Lamb Curry Ragout at the super cheap price of only $4.95 CUC and the other half ordered the Mixed Paella $5.95 CUC with seafood and meat.
His dish was way too big, we could have just ordered this between us. It was tasty. My curry was extremely mild and lacked a bit of salt, but the lamb was very tender and again plenty of it.
This place is so cheap you have to visit, but go early or you’ll be waiting on a really long queue out the front. We’ll be back to try other dishes at Los Nardos very soon.
