If you are planning to stay two days in Milan you will have much more time to see all the most important Milan tourist attractions without haste.
While visiting Milan in one day may be rather exhausting with possible risk to skip some important city sights, with two days at your disposal you’ll have more time to plan your perfect city itinerary.
I propose to follow two suggested itineraries subdivided in morning, afternoon and evening sessions either for the first and the second day.
Milan Travel Itineraries
Before discovering in detail the routes of this walking itinerary , it is useful to become familiar with Milan underground network as it will serve you to reach the center of Milan from where all walking itineraries start.
Familiarize yourself with Milan metro and get a copy of Milan metro map.

Day 1 – Two Days in Milan
Morning
Your self-guided walking or better to say sightseeing tour will inevitably start from city core. I like to call it centro (center) storico (historic) walking tour. This tour duration is approximately from two to two hours and half.
All depends on the sights you select and do you opt for rooftop of the Duomo, interior of the cathedral or both of them. In that case this tour will last at least another hour. In this case pick out express Milan Duomo and rooftop skip the line tour.
One of the popular walking paths is Corso Vittorio Emanuele is a popular covered shopping street lined on both sides with boutiques selling clothes and accessories, situated behind the Milan Cathedral and connecting Piazza Duomo with Piazza San Babila.
This only walking passage houses a number of cinemas, restaurants and cafes. If you get hungry, don’t miss excellent Neapolitan pizza restaurant Gino Sorbillo that 1934 offers yummy pizzas in the side street of Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

All this walking area is a kind of the most prestigious catwalk in the world that reaches its greatness entering inside the glass-covered shopping arcade ‘The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II’, sometimes called ‘il salotto di Milano’ (Milan’s living room).
This nineteenth-century shopping arcade houses some of the most luxurious boutiques in Milan with brands such as Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton, as well as other high-end boutiques.
