Known as the big beach’, Playa Grande is an extremely popular 1.2-kilometer beach situated in the center of Puerto Del Carmen.
With a blue flag waving daily, this spot is perfect for swimmers and families. The water is shallow, and with lifeguards nearby at the ready, it’s one of the safer areas for children playing in the ocean.
Sunbeds, umbrellas, and hammocks are available for hire, and there are also toilets and showers on site. The public has access to everything they could need to lounge in the sun, and you can even rent out a pedal boat if you want to take to the seas.
The beach is also relatively flat, which makes accessibility for disabled extremely easy, and there are even designated areas for individuals in wheelchairs.
A boardwalk runs just behind the beach, and where tourist stroll alongside cyclists and the odd skateboarder.
Due to its central location, shops and restaurants can be found across the street throughout the entire stretch of beach.
From Burger King to beach cafes, fine dining and late-night snacks this place has it all.
