Three Kings Parade

The three kings parade is a special day in Lanzarote as this is when the streets fill with onlookers to see a marvel of characters, entertainers and music performers who march through the streets of Puerto del Carmen.

Bearing gifts for a newborn baby, the three kings, Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar have traveled great distances as they trekked all the way through the desert to reach Bethlehem. They come bearing gifts for the newborn son that is Jesus.

The purpose of this fun and vibrant event is to shine a light on children (Hinojos’) and to provide family entertainment throughout the town. Sometimes riding donkeys or camels, the traditional feel of this parade is clear from the get-go, and it is certainly worth getting involved if you have kids!

Be sure to watch out for the three wise men in Playa del Carmen as they travel along Avenida de Las Playas until eventually ending up at Hotel San Antonio.
