A sacred well cenote with a flooded cave system near Tulum that extends for 61 km. While there are numerous passages, it was named after two sinkholes (two eyes) that are 70m in diameter connected by a 400m long passageway.
Why Visit?
There are 28 sinkhole entrances in total within the cave system and it’s great for both snorkeling and underwater exploration. Because of the natural light here, the water is crystal clear, which gives divers clear visibility as they explore the depths of this region and its unbelievable beauty.
If you have cave diving experience or want to take get some, this is one experience you won’t want to miss.
Snorkeling
For those who’s needs are far more recreational, and even for those who have no diving certificate, have no fear!
One of the most popular tours that can be taken through Cenote Dos Ojos is the snorkeling tour, for which no certificates are needed!
During the tour, you get to swim through the clear and fresh 25°C (77° F) water and take in the beauty of the caves. Even more exciting, those on the snorkeling tour also get to see the bat cave, which is teeming with cave life.
Diving
For advanced divers who are extremely adventurous, Cenote Dos Ojos also contains The Pit, which is the deepest known cave passage in the whole of Quintana Roo descending to as low as 118 meters.
Need to Know
The cave tunnel can be dangerous, and only those with Advanced Open Water certification are allowed to dive in this area.

How to Get There
Follow Route 307 from Cancun to around 600m past Parque Xel-Há and you will find the Dos Ojos exit on your right, where the Ki Waay restaurant is.
Continue along this road for 3 KM and you’ll see the entrance on your left, 200m past Cenote Nahual Tulum. If you reach the entrance to Cenote Taak Bi Ha, you’ve gone too far.
