Id read that La Redaccion Restaurant was the best restaurant in Trinidad so we had to try it out. I was expecting it to be really expensive but not so. The food is modern and interesting, a very nice change.
I was really looking forward to checking out La Radaccion Restaurant as it’s meant to be the best in town. Gosh, was I pleased to see everything on the menu was only $10 CUC which included a free drink.
The free drink was a very decent Mojito or Cobra Libra.
The menu was so interesting, way better than anything else we’ve seen in Cuba so far and we’ve eaten out a lot. It reminded us of a typical restaurant at home with really good options. The restaurant is inside this awesome big old printing building, with really high ceilings and huge doors and windows.
The atmosphere is just perfect with soft lighting and a little background music. Staff were fast and efficient. Ordering is a bit strange, you have to tick a piece of paper which keeps track of everything.
Eating Experience
With everything being $10 CUC a dish (with free drink included), it meant you didn’t need to decide what you wanted based on price, which is an excellent idea.
My first meal was the Pork Belly, this was very nice although a tiny bit dry. On the side was mashed potatoes, chickpeas and a yummy piece of pork rind.
Garry had the Loin of Pork in Coconut which tasted lovely, followed by Fudge Brownie for dessert – yum.
On our second night I had the Caribbean Lamb Curry which was absolutely fantastic and Garry had the Fish of the day, this was also excellent and better than his dish the night before.
Our Opinion
Considering this is meant to be THE best restaurant in Trinidad, it’s excellent value for money with really interesting mains for only $10 CUC including a free drink. We went back twice it was that good.
