We really enjoyed the Beef Lasagna at La Xana Italian Restaurant, washed down with a cheap cold Cristal beer. They do a good pizza as well for only $4.50 CUC, enough for 2.
We’ve been to La Xana Italian Restaurant 3 times now and Im sure it won’t be the last time. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building which actually has three restaurants in it. La Xana Restaurant is on the ground floor, just walk straight ahead.
Seating
Apparently it’s the cheapest of the 3 with the Cuban restaurant on the second floor next and the La Terraza Restaurant on the very top floor being the most expensive.
It doesn’t ever seem to get that busy that you need to book a table or anything. We found the seating along the wall a little uncomfortable as youre too far away from the table!
The menu is Italian with dishes you will be familiar with, including pizza and pasta, all pretty cheap at around $5.95 CUC per dish.
Eating Experience
First night we the Spaghetti bolognaise and Beef Lasagna, there was more than enough spaghetti and lasagna. I preferred the lasagna. Next time was a pizza, I have to say the best in Cuba so far but of course nothing like what we are used to at home.
They gladly added fresh tomatoes to our pizza too. The last time we were there I tried the Spinach Ravioli, which was handmade and very nice. We tried to order the Beef Lasagna again, but none was available this time. Our meals for 2 including beers were only around $15 CUC a time, really cheap.
Our Opinion
Best Beef Lasagna for $5.95 in Havana! Great value restaurant and located very close to the Parque Central. Total cost of the meal for 2 with beers was only $15 CUC plus tax.
