As we walked past El Olivo Restaurant in Vinales, we checked out the menu and thought it was pretty good value. Great service, well priced plus you actually get a bit of veg instead of the usual rice and beans.
We hadn’t eaton all day so an early dinner was called for. At around 5pm we sat down at El Olivo Restaurant, there was one other table of people outside.
Inside was very nice with clean toilets too. It wasn’t long to wait for our meal, our waiter assured us it would be THE best meal in the whole of Cuba, we somehow doubted that but didn’t say anything. The free little started with fresh soft buns, homemade feta and olives was delicious.
Eating Experience
I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu which was $6.45 CUC and Garry had the Meat Lasanga, a mix of beef and pork at $8.55 CUC. To be honest the beef lasanga at La Xana Restaurant back in Havana was way better and only $5.95 CUC.
We both found our meals just a little too salty. My vegtables were great, just the chicken was on the salty side, Garry’s meal was more salty.
Our Opinion
Restaurant was nice and clean, the food was very well presented with a free little starter, delicious, and yummy vegtables for a change. Unfortunately we found the meals to be a bit too salty for us, having said that were not big on salt so might suit others better.
