Coco Joya Condos in Playas del Coco: Why Rent or Buy

A gated community atop a hill that is just two blocks from the Playas del Coco beach and 10 min walk to the bars and restaurants of downtown. It has a wonderful pool area that has a clear ocean view and a spacious poolside common area complete with palm trees and sun chairs.

Why Coco Joya

Coco Joya’s location is also strategically positioned away from the noise and downtown hustle and bust, but close enough to easily walk there. The mountain and nature views make for quite a tranquil setting.

The ocean breeze on the hill Coco Joya is built on makes being outside all the more worthwhile. The panoramic ocean views from the community pool area are about nice as it gets here in Coco.  The fact that you get an ocean view this close to the beach and the bars is also a rarity in Coco, as most condos close to the water are on flat lower ground.

The seclusion of Coco Joya is also fully complete.  You have to drive up a gated hill to get to the complex, which provides a high level of security, as well as, ensures there is no foot traffic other than that of owners and guests.

The condos here all have balconies and while not clear-cut ocean views, they are well-thought-out and nicely spaced. Since they’re 2-bedrooms, the minimum is at least 950 sqft, and many owners have converted guest closets into in-condo laundry rooms.

Coco Joya #11

Comparable to #12, this two-bedroom, two-bath, 1200 sqft condo has splendidly unique color tones. The sunrise/sunset colors in the living areas are a sweet compliment to the sky blue bedroom. The stainless steel appliances bring out the shine in the cherry wood kitchen.

The TV tucked in the corner, however, is oddly position, while the dark wood living is furniture looks nice, it doesn’t look all that comfortable, especially for watching TV. The glass door dining area has an outstanding wraparound view though.

The cherry wood furniture in the master bedroom is quite nice,  as is the wall closet, dresser, and mirror. The carpet surrounding the bed is a nice touch, but the old TV could use an upgrade.   The master bathroom is of decent design, while the vanity/mirror and standup shower are above average.

The guest bedroom has a large double bed and some space, but the wall color is plain, and there is no dresser. The closet was converted into a stacked washer/dryer combo though which is convenient. The guest bathroom is small but functional with a standup shower, small vanity, and mirror.

A two-bedroom, 2-bath, 950 sqft condo with a ground-floor balcony. The paint on the wall is of orange/yellow sunset which is pretty neat. The kitchen is probably the nicest spot in the place with stainless steel appliances, granite wraparound countertop, and wood cupboards.

The living area has two couches and a soft chair, but their coverings suggest they’re not all that new. The master bedroom has a decent size bed, but has bare minimal furniture otherwise, with no dresser or mirror.

The guest bedroom is kinda tiny, with just a single and a twin bed with a small nightstand in between. The bathrooms are basic with standup showers, but a nice stacked washer/dryer combo is conveniently tucked away nearby.

Coco Joya #2

A two-bedroom, 2-bath condo with a 2nd-floor balcony. The furnishing and the kitchen area are fairly standard The leather couch, however, is somewhat unique and the LED TV is of fairly decent size.

The master bedroom has a couple of sitting chairs and a decent size bed and wall closet. Its bathroom is fairly compact though.

The guest bedroom is quite small, but with a single bed, there is at least some walking space. No second bathroom or laundry closet is seen in the video.

The kitchen is decently furnished with a useful granite L-shaped island. The fridge and stove are not stainless but are of fairly good size. The living room furniture is basic but faces the outdoor balcony.

The master bedroom is tasteful in a dark wood, but somewhat sparsely furnished. The wall closet however is of nice size.

The guest bedroom has a double bed and a twin bed, and not much else. The showers are both standups (no tubs) with one bathroom having a stacked washer-dryer close by.
