NYE Fireworks in Istanbul

The Bosphorus waterfront area, city hills and rooftop patios offer the best vantages point to see the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Istanbul. Within this realm, there are many parks, clubs, restaurants and amazing hotels to choose from.

Waterfront

The waterfront is Istanbul is extensive and spans both sides of the Bosphorus include spots found on Europe and Asia sides. You can literally draw a line of people on New Year’s Eve all the way from Sultanhamet, across the bridge to Karakoy, Besitkas and Ortakoy.

Notable hotspots for reserved bookings include Ruby, Four Season Bosphorus, and Çırağan Palace.

Rooftops

Since half of Istanbul seems to be built on a hill you find rooftops bars and patios almost everywhere you look. The only real choice here is what you want to see beside the Bosphorus and how much you’re willing to spend to get to the top.

360 Istanbul is one of the more notable places is you get views in all directions, while places like Spago have menus created by Wolfgang Puck himself.

Dinner Cruises

It’s not only the fireworks which light up the Bosporus as all the boats in the water have neon lighting and keep the water aglow long before the sky is set on fire. While the dinner food can be average, it’s hard to beat the view or the price for unlimited drinks.

Private Yachts

If you want to get up close and personal and get that absolute perfect angle to see the fireworks, there is no better options than renting a private yacht. Not only will this allow to easily social distance this New Years Eve, but you’ll get the best seat in the house for the fireworks display along with luxurious food and drink. An added bonus is that you’re not on a set schedule, so you go wherever you want before or after the fireworks.

Famous Hills

The sheer number of parks in the city of seven hills is astounding. Places like Pierre Loti Hill and Ulus Park are usually get rammed from 11:00pm onward with so many bodies it’s hard to tell whose arms are whose. This year, however, with the coronavirus still in full bloom, it’s will be very difficult to social distance if the crowds get large enough. This may be a last-minute option if there’s enough space to go round, but it’s not something we would suggest counting on.
